What’s In My Makeup Bag? – London 2017

I’m going to London next week and so I thought I would tell you what makeup I’m taking with me. If you have any request for posts relating to my trip (or anything for that matter) please let me know. I’ll go through the products in my makeup bag in the order I put them on my face and tell you a bit about them (if you want to know any more about any of the products let me know). I won’t include the makeup brushes I’m taking as I think that might be a bit boring but if you want to know what makeup brushes I use, I’ll do another post on that.

Bourjois Air Mat Foundation – This is the foundation that I’m currently using and it’s okay, not my favourite but I’m just using it up. It has a light/medium coverage but it is buildable so I’ll be able to use it for day and night. It has a matte but natural finish so it’s good for my quite oily skin. I thought it would be worth mentioning that I find a beauty blender gives the best results with this foundation.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer – This is my favourite concealer which I’ve been using for years and I love it for under the eyes and covering minor redness/imperfections. It has a light/medium coverage (but it does cover a lot) and is really lightweight and glowy which I love.

MUA Hide & Conceal Concealer – I use this concealer for covering blemishes and more obvious redness. I’ve honestly has this concealer for about three years and I’m just finishing it off. It’s actually quite a good concealer considering it’s only £1 and it has a fairly high coverage.

Urban Decay Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion – This is a great eyeshadow primer and I really think it does improve the application and wear of my eyeshadow. Even if I’m not wearing eyeshadow, I always put a bit of this on as it stops my eyelids from getting oily.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder – This is the best powder ever. I wouldn’t be able to do my makeup without it as it sets my makeup into place all day and I only start to get shiny after about five hours which is great for someone with oily skin.

L’Oréal Brow Artist Genius Kit – This is the eyebrow product which I find works best for me. I use the wax to define my arches and the powder to fill them in. It can be used to create natural brows or more heavy brows depending on what the overall makeup look is.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer – This is my holy grail bronzer. It is matte and it’s the perfect colour – not to orange but still bronzy. I use it for contouring too so it’s a two in one product for me which is great especially when travelling.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in ‘Moonstone’ – This highlighter is so beautiful and makes you look so glowy but natural – a lit from within kind of look. It is so finely milled and this particular shade is just stunning.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette – I’m taking this palette because I find it to be so versatile. I can use it for more natural day time looks and I can use it for a night time glam look. It has everything including pale pinks, a gorgeous copper shade, all shades of brown, a white and a black.

L’Oréal Super Liner Waterproof in ‘Black Lacquer’ – The way I tend to use this is for drawing a thin line along my lash line to make my lashes look thicker. It’s also good to have the option to do winged liner. L’Oréal liners tend to be great and this is no exception.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara in ‘Black’ – This is just my favourite mascara which I know works for me so I had to take this one. It lengthens, volumises and just makes my lashes look great. Even though it’s not waterproof, I could rub my eyes or cry loads and it wouldn’t smudge at all.

Model Co Illusion Lip Liner – I chose to take this lip liner because it works with all nude and pink lip products which is all I’m taking with me anyway. It is really easy to slightly over line my lips but keep them looking natural with this.

MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in ‘Crème Cup’ – I couldn’t go anywhere without this lipstick as it us such a fail safe option for me. It’s a beautiful pale pink with a lovely creamy formula. If you want to read about any of the MAC lipsticks I mention, click here to see my MAC lipstick collection.

MAC Satin Lipstick in ‘Snob’ – I needed a slightly brighter option so I opted for this lipstick. It’s a lavender toned pink, some would describe it as a Barbie pink and as you may know, the satin formula from MAC is my favourite.

MAC Satin Lipstick in ‘Faux’ – This is my perfect more grown up mauve/nude shade that goes with pretty much any makeup look. Again, it has a satin formula which is so comfortable and long lasting.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in ‘Abu Dhabi’ – I needed to bring a nude liquid lipstick and this is my favourite one. It’s just the perfect nude shade, it feels so comfortable on the lips and it is long lasting too.

  1. I love the Maybelline mascara it’s a must have for me and it does elongate my lashes. Have a great time in my city, London! If you have time visit the Southbank for great views of big Ben, houses of parliament and other monumental buildings, plus it’s close to Tate modern and a number of other galleries. God bless X
